Tallan

The Tallan are a primitive species from a planet of the same name. They possess high enough functions to construct and use tools but have no capacity for complex creativity in their current state. However, they have made up for this lack of basic machinery with skills in taming the fearsome creatures of their world, most notably the Tallan leech hound which make excellent attack beasts.
To adapt to their inhospitable, rocky and sun-bleached world, they have developed thick leathery skin and a skull plate that covers most of the eye socket to reduce light intake. To make up for their reduced vision, their other sense have been heightened, including their olfactory abilities and hearing. further adaptions include pronounced fore-claws which can be used for digging, cutting or general defence; and consistently growing teeth to counteract the tough vegetation and flesh they consume.
